Talking about the durability of the blade

Let’s talk a little about razor blade durability. Many factors in production determine the durability of the blade, such as the type of steel strip, heat treatment, grinding angle, type of grinding wheel used in grinding, coating of the edge, etc.

Some razor blades may provide a better shave after the first, second shave. Because the edge of the blade is sanded by the skin during the first two shaves, tiny burrs and excess coating are removed. But many blades after use, the coating begins to thin out, burrs appear on the edge of the blade, the sharpness decreases, and after the second or third shave, the shave becomes less and less comfortable. After a while, it became so uncomfortable that it eventually needed to be replaced.

So if the blade is more comfortable to use after two uses, it is a good blade

How many times can the blade be used? Some people only use it once and then throw it away. Seems a bit wasteful as each blade can be reused multiple times. The average number of times is 2 to 5. But this number can vary greatly depending on the blade, beard and person’s experience, razor, soap or shaving foam used, etc. People with less beard can easily use 5 or more times.
